How to read a CBD Certificate of Analysis

A COA is a laboratory report. Use it to check what sample was tested, when, and what the laboratory reported.

Match the batch

Start with product identity, lot/batch and report date.

Read the cannabinoid panel

Compare CBD, THC and other cannabinoid results with the label, paying attention to units.

Look for contaminant panels

Testing scope varies. A COA does not automatically mean every contaminant category was tested.

Know the limitation

A lab report does not establish that a product treats disease or is appropriate for a particular person.
